The timing seems fitting...
"The major problem--one of the major problems, for there are several--one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.~Douglas Adams
To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job. To summarize the summary of the summary: people are a problem."

I love that series. I don't remember very clearly, but wasn't the President forced into the job and kept in isolation on an uninhabited planet?
If I remember correctly the guy who actually ran the universe lived isolated, where as they had a president who was elected- in this case Zaphod Bettelbrox (spelled wrong, don't have time to look it up)that was basically just a public figure head with no power. Hence the whole "if they are capable of being elected, then they should on no account be allowed to do the job" bit of the quote. There is actually a similar quote in "Play Piano" by Kurt Vonegut that I might get around to posting this week.
Oh and the guy who was running everything didn't know he was running everything. I love the part where they all go and visit him. They leave feeling pretty good about the state of things. It is amusing.
That's it, I'm off to the library tomorrow to start all over with Hitchhikers.
Hope that little picture in the right hand corner means what I think it means.

Missing your blog. Where'd you go?
Got pregnant. :) I was really sick the whole 9 months. During which we moved. Been thinking about blogging again, if I ever get the time. I have been missing it lately.
